Rates & Policies
Rates
Our accommodation is in self-catering villas, and two bed only en-suite rooms. The villas are widely spaced with plenty of room for social distancing. Our rates vary depending on the criteria listed below. Please click on the BOOK NOW button above to view the current rates, or contact us directly from our BOOKINGS page.
- A high season rate is applicable over long-weekends and school holidays.
- A higher rates may be effected if there are big events and conferences in the area.
- A lower rate can be negotiated for larger groups.
- Single occupancy, price on application.
- A pensioners rate is available in off-peak times.
- Anyone aged 12 and above is regarded as an adult.
- Children under 12 are billed at 75% of the adult rate.
- Children under 2 will be billed at R100 a night.
Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance due 7 days before arrival. Payment can be made vie EFT.
Cancellation Terms
Cancellation within 7 days of stay, forfeit the full booking value.
Cancellation within 14 days of stay, forfeit 75% of the deposit received.
Cancellation within 21 days of stay, forfeit 50% of the deposit received.
Cancellation within 30 days of stay, forfeit 25% of the deposit received.
All cancellations are also subject to a 10% admin fee on the full booking value.
Policies
SMOKING POLICY
All buildings at River Crossing are strictly non-smoking. There are ashtrays outside on the patios where smokers are free to smoke. We will levy a special cleaning charge of R1000 per room in any room in which our staff detect smoking. We reserve the right to ask any such offenders to leave the premises.
LINEN CHANGE FREQUENCY
Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, but please bring your own swimming towels. Our standard practice is to replace towels after four nights and bed linen weekly. This is included in the rates quoted and takes cognisance of the importance of water conservation. If you require a more frequent change of towels and linen please make your request when booking so that accommodations can be made and your quote adjusted accordingly.
BELONGINGS LEFT BEHIND
Please take care to take all your belongings when checking out, especially smartphone chargers and jewelry and shoes. If you require property which you have left behind to be posted, we will charge an admin fee of R100 plus cost of packaging and postage. Otherwise it will be kept for up to 3 months where after it will be given to charity.
SERVICING OF ROOMS
Servicing of the villas is an optional extra charge, when making the booking. It includes basic cleaning of kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, lounge and patio. We observe Covid protocols and require guests to be out of the accommodation for 2 hours between 10 to 1pm if a cleaning service is required. Price on application.
NOISE
We are close to the Drakensberg World Heritage Site and ask guests to be considerate of the wild-life around us, as well as fellow visitors who have come to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. No fireworks are permitted nor playing of loud music.
CHILDREN AND THE SWIMMING POOL
The swimming pool is not fenced and it is incumbent upon parents to monitor their children accordingly.
PET FRIENDLY - BY ARRANGEMENT
Our accommodation is not fenced so only small, clean living pets will be considered and only by prior arrangement. Pets need to be kept on a leash in the grounds and must be kept from annoying other guests. Pets may not be left behind when guests leave the property. Please bring a bed throw in case your pet jumps onto the bed - we use white linen.
